Inspiring Women is series of 10 short films focusing on the lives and achievements of inspirational contemporary women of South Asian Muslim heritage. These powerful interviews will explore the lives, achievements and careers of female role-models from a range of backgrounds and industries, from politics to education to sport.

Meet Bushra Nasir CBE, one of the first female Muslim secondary school headteachers in the UK. Bushra moved to the UK from Pakistan as a child, and her parents were instrumental in instilling in her a passion for learning, which led to her illustrious career in education.

After being awarded a CBE – an accolade she says she shares with the pupils and teachers she’s worked with – and winning Headteacher of the Year in 2012, Bushra retired from education to work with the Migration Museum project, but has now returned to education as CEO of the Drapers Multi-Academy Trust.
