Themes of immigration, new possibilities and unexpected challenges connect the work of the three authors taking part in our digital panel discussion on Worlds After Windrush.

Yvonne Bailey-Smith’s The Day I Fell Off My Island introduces us to a young Jamaican girl forced to leave her life behind and start anew in London; This One Sky Day sees Leone Ross tell a story of love and loss in a fictional Caribbean archipelago, while Louise Hare’s bittersweet This Lovely City invites us to witness a community turning on a once-loved Windrush musician after an unexpected incident.

While each takes a different narrative route, a spirit of world-building, society and Windrush experience runs throughout all three. Hear Bailey-Smith, Ross and Hare engage in a rich exchange during this digital event.
