How we’ve made BLF Covid-secure

We are excited to return to live events, but we want to make BLF as safe and Covid-secure as possible for our visitors, speakers and staff. We are following government guidance and have worked closely with venues to ensure you can enjoy the festival safely.

Please find answers to the most common questions below:

Will seating be socially-distanced?

The capacity at all our partner venues has been reduced in order to provide socially-distanced seating. All seats are arranged in pre-set group sizes; please refer to your booking to check this information. Event queues will also be socially-distanced outside most venues – please be prepared for any weather!

How will it be safe to buy tickets?

All tickets must be purchased in advance online, then printed at home or downloaded onto your mobile phone. Limited tickets may be available to be purchased on the door using card only.

Will I have to wear a mask?

Mask-wearing will be mandatory at our indoor events, unless you’re medically exempt. If you can’t wear a face mask for health reasons and would feel more comfortable showing something to indicate this, you can download exemption cards here. All staff will be wearing face coverings (except those performing/speaking onstage) and ensuring social distancing.

Can I check in using my Test and Trace app?

We’ll require you to check in on the NHS Test and Trace app, or we’ll take your details manually in order to ensure we can notify you should any positive cases occur after the event.

Will venues be clean?

All venues will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between events.

Will there be a big rush to get into each event?

Doors will open 30 mins prior to event start to allow you to safely gain entry and no latecomers will be admitted. Please ensure you leave plenty of time to get to each event.

What if I’ve been told to isolate?

Please do not visit if you, or anyone in your household, is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 – please check the NHS website. As soon as possible, please contact our Box Office team and we will offer a full refund. If you test positive for Coronavirus within 14 days of visiting the festival, please contact covid@bradfordlitefest.co.uk. If one of your fellow audience members tests positive you may receive a call from NHS Test & Trace advising you to isolate.

Will there still be space for wheelchair users?

There will still be space for wheelchairs at most events – please email boxoffice@bradfordlitfest.co.uk to inform of us of your access requirements.

Will there be toilets available?

You will be able to use the toilet facilities at all our event venues. Please follow guidance given by the venue.

In addition to these measures, each venue has its own Covid-Secure policy which can be accessed on their website. We advise you to check the venue policy before your visit.
