Our Poetry Open Mic Night returns to Bread + Roses on North Parade, offering a platform to young poets aged 14-19.

This is a supportive and welcoming night of poetry for young people with a guest host to be announced. Book a slot in advance, or come along on the night and see how you feel. No previous experience is necessary, whether you are a regular on the Northern poetry scene or have never performed in public before, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your work, try something new, or just have fun.

Young people under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Parents, caregivers and friends are welcome to come along for support! The cafe will be open for refreshments.

If you’d like to book a performance slot, please contact us at:

This is a B-Lit event, supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

With special thanks to the Bread + Roses team for facilitating the use of their fantastic community venue.
