This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, in which the British government announced its official support for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestinian territory and the 70th anniversary of the Six-Day War.

It is also when Arab forces met in Khartoum and decided not to negotiate with, engage with or even recognise the state of Israel.
