Have you always wanted to make your own comic? Now you have the chance to work with an award-winning comics artist to create your own pieces – with a twist.

Gareth Brookes makes weird and humorous graphic novels using experimental materials. In this unique event, you will be taught three or four basic stitches with which to create your own bespoke embroidery artwork.

With Gareth’s help, you will create a beautiful embroidered piece to take home and treasure.

This event is suitable for ages 7+ however, children under 10 years old will require the help of an adult.

Gareth Brookes

Gareth Brookes was born in Woking and studied Fine Art at Newcastle University and The Royal College of Art. In 2012 he was the winner of the Myriad First Graphic Novel Competition, with an extract from his graphic novel The Black Project (Myriad, 2013). His Latest Graphic Novel is A Thousand Coloured Castles.
