Bradford Literature Festival is delighted to welcome bestselling author, John Boyne, for this very special in-conversation event. John is the author of nine books for adults, as well as five for younger readers and a highly acclaimed short story collection. His works are distinctive in their profoundly moving and deeply personal stories, often set in some of history’s darkest moments – the perfect example of this being The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, a New York Times Number 1 bestseller that went on to be adapted into an award-winning feature film.

John’s latest novel, The Heart’s Invisible Furies, is set in his native city of Dublin with a sweeping 70-year history of Ireland as the backdrop to a moving personal story of discovery and self-fulfilment. He will be talking about his phenomenal career to date and the inspiration behind his incredible stories.
