Antiques Roadshow icon Ronnie Archer-Morgan joins Sissay to share stories from his eclectic career. Starting life in the care system, Archer-Morgan’s journey saw him navigate abuse, racism, gangs and the police to eventually find solace in the world of art and antiquities – all via stints as a DJ and celebrity hairdresser.

Today, Archer-Morgan is one of the country’s most respected antiquity specialists.

Lemn Sissay

Lemn Sissay is an author, poet and playwright and has been awarded an MBE for services to literature. In 2018 he was made Poet Laureate of Canterbury. He has read poetry everywhere, from the shores of Sri Lanka to Wigan Library and many places between. His autobiography My Name is Why was published in 2019.

Ronnie Archer-Morgan has worked in the antiques business for over 30 years. He learned the tricks of the antiques trade by exploring local shops and markets whilst working a variety of jobs including technical model maker, DJ, a boutique manager, and celebrity hairdresser. This eventually led him to work as consultant to Sotheby’s wristwatch department and to start his own renowned Knightsbridge gallery. Today, Ronnie is best known for his regular appearances on the TV favourite Antiques Roadshow where his exciting finds have included a Fijian war club, and he remains a fixture at London’s flea markets and the prestigious Masterpiece Art Fair.
