Join acclaimed children’s author Gail Carson Levine (Ella Enchanted) on a magical adventure. Gail will read from her Peter Pan-inspired children’s book Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, before having a chat with poet Jo Brandon about the inspiration for her talented fairy characters including Prilla, Mama Dove and of course, Tinkerbell!

As a special treat, Gail will read us out with her favourite extract from Peter Pan.

About The Author

Gail Carson Levine

Gail Carson Levine’s best-known book is Ella Enchanted, which was made into a major motion picture. She’s written twenty-five books for children, mostly fantasy and fairy tale novels. Her latest book, A Ceiling Made of Eggshells, is a historical novel for young people about the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492.

About The Host

Jo Brandon

Jo Brandon was born in Essex in 1986 and is now based in West Yorkshire. She graduated with a degree in creative writing from Bretton Hall in 2007. Jo has a pamphlet, Phobia, and two full-length collections: The Learned Goose (2015) and Cures (2021) all with Valley Press. Jo is also a librettist, collaborating frequently with composer Ella Jarman-Pinto. Their commissioned libretto marking International Women’s Day 2021 aired on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune. Jo is a former editor of Cadaverine and was Bradford Literature Festival’s first Digital Poet in Residence.
