With more than 30 years’ shared experience in the police force, husband and wife duo, Bob and Carol Bridgestock, have used their knowledge to help write their bestselling D.I Jack Dylan series, as well as lending an authentic touch as expert consultants on dramas such as BBC’s Happy Valley and ITV’s Scott and Bailey.
In this fascinating event in conversation with Bradford Police Museum’s Martin Baines, Bob and Carol will share their wealth of hands-on knowledge, discussing everything from real-life crime and police process to the pros and pitfalls of the crime genre. They will be accompanied by make-up artist, Pamela Clare, who will be demonstrating the astonishing special effects make-up that brings these crimes to life on screen; some lucky audience members may even go home with a black eye or a gunshot wound!
The event will be followed by a tour of the historic Bradford Police Museum, including the original Victorian cells that formed part of Bradford Police Station between 1874 and 1974 and whose occupants were headed for the noose. This tour will give you a thrilling glimpse into the place they spent their final days.
