2016 marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. In this special Shakespeare themed event, cartoonist and children’s author Marcia Williams will bring The Bard’s work vividly to life. Come up on stage if you dare and help Marcia re-enact The Tempest, using masks, props and plenty of drama!

About The Artist

Marcia Williams

A self-confessed ‘obsessive illustrator’, Marcia Williams has written and illustrated numerous books since ‘The First Christmas’ was published in 1987. Many of these have been retellings of classic stories – from Noah’s Ark to Don Quixote – illustrated in her distinctive cartoon-strip style. She has retold several of Shakespeare’s plays and taken to the boards herself to play the Bard in a production based on her books, culminating in a performance in Stratford-upon-Avon.
