Come along and lend a hand as they write and illustrate a book from scratch in this creative and participatory workshop, all about how a story gets made. With your help they will create a brand new story and show you how to make your ideas come to life with nothing but a pen and a piece of paper.

 

About The Speakers

Vivian French

Vivian French is a highly-acclaimed children’s author who has written over 40 books for Walker, and more than 270 books during the course of her bestselling career. Vivian is the founder of Picture Hooks, a very successful mentoring scheme for aspiring young illustrators.

Petr Horáček

Petr Horacek’s bold and imaginative illustrations continue to captivate children and critics. His stories, often about loyalty and belonging, are told with an instinctive warmth and humour and are beautifully brought to life through his evocative use of colour and texture. He has won many awards around the world for classics such as Suzy Goose and A New House for Mouse and was shortlisted for the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal in 2012.
