Bradford Literature Festival principally takes place in easily accessible city centre locations.

Most of our venues are a five minute walk from Bradford Interchange and from Bradford Forster Square station. Please use public transport and help us reduce our carbon footprint.

By Bus

Bradford Interchange is located in the city centre and is just a few minutes’ walk away from the majority of the festival venues. Bradford Interchange is served by all main bus operators in the area.

The Free City Bus follows a circular route stopping at key locations around the city centre. Locations include Bradford Interchange, Forster Square Rail Station, National Media Museum, University of Bradford as well as Bradford College. Buses run every ten minutes from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 5.30pm on Saturdays.

By Rail

Bradford is served by two train stations, both of which are located in the city centre providing fast and easy access to most of the festival locations.

Bradford Interchange is five minutes’ walk from Centenary Square and City Hall and has rail, bus and taxi services all under one roof. Bradford Interchange is just a 20 minute direct journey from Leeds train station with links to the rest of the country. You can plan your journey using National Rail.

Bradford Interchange also runs a direct service to London Kings Cross, via Wakefield and Doncaster. Visit the Grand Central Railway website for more information. Bradford Forster Square is also a 5 minute walk from Centenary Square and City Hall. The station has a daily direct East Coast intercity rail service to London, and also serves Leeds, Ilkley, Saltaire, Keighley, and Skipton.

By Car

Bradford city centre is just two miles from the motorway network. From the M62, follow junction 26, joining the M606, and follow the brown heritage signs which will bring you into the city centre. For maps and driving directions, please go to the AA or Map Quest.


Please use one of the numerous city centre car parks as on-street parking is limited in Bradford city centre.
