Adelle Stripe is a novelist, poet and freelance arts writer. Her debut novel, Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile, received the Society of Authors’ K Blundell Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize. Adelle is a regular contributor to The Quietus and her journalism has appeared in The Yorkshire Post, New Statesman and Caught by the River. She has a PhD in creative writing, and has lectured at MMU, Leeds Trinity and York St John University. In a previous life she worked as a chatline hostess, a window dresser and on the shop floor of a leather factory.
