Dr Stephen Carver

Dr Stephen Carver taught literature and creative writing at the University of East Anglia and the University of Fukui, Japan, before leaving academia to work in publishing. He is the biographer of the Victorian novelist W.H. Ainsworth, and his recent publications include The 19th Century Underworld, The Author Who Outsold Dickens, the novel Shark Alley, and The Unveiled Anthology of New Writing (co-edited with Ashley Stokes). He is presently writing The Opium Eaters for Morton Books and editing a new edition of Treasure Island for Wordsworth Editions.
