Christopher Wilton-Steer
Christopher Wilton-Steer is a travel photographer and writer based in Nairobi, Kenya. His photography explores less well documented and often misunderstood parts of the world in an effort to build bridges of interest and understanding between distant cultures and bring attention to diminishing cultures. Christopher’s work has been published in National Geographic, The Guardian, CNN, Financial Times, Corriera Della Sera, China Daily, and Der Spiegel amongst other publications. He is the creator of two photographic exhibitions. ‘The Artisans of al-Darb al-Ahmar: Life and Work in Historic Cairo’ explored the city’s artisanal heritage and was exhibited in London, Brussels, and Austria. ‘The Silk Road: A Living History’ explored the links between the diverse people, places and cultures along this historic trade route and was showcased in London and Toronto. It is now available as a coffee table book published by Hemeria. Christopher also serves as the Global Lead for Communications at the Aga Khan Foundation.
