Eelco Hooftman

Eelco Hooftman is a Dutch-born landscape architect, visiting professor at GSD, Harvard University and co-founder of GROSS. MAX. Landscape Architects, established in Edinburgh in 1995 alongside Bridget Baines. Hooftman studied landscape architecture at Wageningen University in the Netherlands and has significantly contributed to the field through both practice and academia.

The firm is recognised for its innovative and award-winning approach to public space design, merging a Dutch sense of experimentation, a German sense of rigour, and a British sense of humour.
