Demet Tokbay
Demet Tokbay is one of only two professional parchment makers in the UK, recognised by Heritage Crafts in 2026. Originally trained in Conservation and Restoration of Antiquities at Ege University, she apprenticed under Anatolia’s last traditional parchment maker, İsmail Araç. Since founding Mavi Dükkân in 2015, she has combined traditional parchment making with contemporary design while preserving this critically endangered craft.
