Dr. Maya Petrovich

Dr. Maya Petrovich specialises in the global history of Eurasian empires, particularly the interactions between the Islamic world and South Asia. She holds degrees from Hamburg, Columbia and Princeton. For five years, she was an associate researcher and a tutor at Oxford University with the ERC Nomadic Empires Project.

Currently she is the holder of the Yunus Emre Professorship in Turkish Culture at Trinity College Dublin. She has also trained in Germany as a psychotherapist and a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. She has published several academic articles and two books of poetry in her first language, Bosnian, and she is currently working on a multi-volume novel about Bronze Age Egypt and Canaan.
