Ever wondered how David Hockney is able to create such astonishing masterpieces using an iPad? This Hockney-inspired workshop will guide you through the process of creating your very own intricate photo collage using an iPad’s camera and drawing tools.

The iconic artist has embraced technology in the way he works and this digital art workshop, led by artist and educator Roz Hall, will show you how to take and import photos, use layers to build up an image, and use painting tools to add details to your digital photos to create your own work of art.

Hall, whose work has been featured by Apple and Microsoft, has also taught at Tate Britain, the V&A and the BBC.

This workshop is for ages 16 and over.

iPads will be supplied.

Roz Hall

Roz Hall (MA, FHEA) is an award winning artist who is recognised around the world for his digital paintings created on portable consumer electronic devices, such as Apple’s iPad and Microsoft’s Surface.
As an advocate for the Mobile Digital Art movement, he speaks at events, runs practical workshops and writes about the progressive medium. He has taught digital painting at Tate Britain, V&A London, Hockney’s Salts Mill Gallery in Bradford, and at a growing list of schools and colleges across the UK. His digital paintings have been exhibited across the globe in a number of exhibitions including The 2012 Lumen Prize, and with Apple’s Start Something New campaign. He’s been published in MacUser, PAGE, Cult of Mac magazine, iCreate, CANVAS, /NEXT magazine, ETC Magazine, Madame Figaro, Artists & Illustrators, Financial Times and The Independent.
