Bradford Literature Festival Welcomes Robert Nisbet to Board

Bradford Literature Festival (BLF) is delighted to have appointed an experienced leader to its Board. 

Robert Nisbet joins as a Non-Executive Director, adding a wealth of expertise and experience to an already exceptional leadership group.

Nisbet is a partner at 5564 & company, a corporate communications agency that advises major global brands including Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and more. A former BBC and Sky News Journalist, Robert worked as both a Correspondent as well as Chief Reporter; he was the first Entertainment Correspondent for the BBC Six o’Clock News and in his time at Sky News he filmed a series of high-profile under-cover reports. In his time as a Political Correspondent he was posted in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Brussels, and Westminster. 

Nisbet joins at an exciting time as Bradford Literature Festival gears up for its thirteenth edition. Taking place 3 – 12 July 2026, the festival hopes to build on 2025’s outstanding year, which saw over 187,000 people attend over 750 events spread across the city.

Robert Nisbet, Non-Executive Director at BLF, said: “’I’m over the moon to be part of this incredible event which brings the importance of storytelling to classrooms, homes and shared public spaces around Bradford. In an age of angry division, the importance of respectful listening has never been more important, and the festival gives a vital platform to lived experiences, colourful imagination and political voices from around the world.” 

As well as the main festival, Bradford Literature Festival also runs its Education Programme, a series of free Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 events that build on the National Curriculum and support students on their learning journeys.
