Dr Angela Gallop

Angela Gallop has been a practising forensic scientist for over 45 years. Originally a senior scientist with the Home Office Forensic Science Service, in 1986 she established the independent consultancy, Forensic Access, primarily to advise lawyers representing people accused of crime involving forensic evidence for a better balance at court.

Niamh NicDaeid

Professor Niamh Nic Daeid

Professor Niamh Nic Daeid is an award winning Chartered Chemist and authorised forensic scientist. She is a Professor of Forensic Science and Director of the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science at the University of Dundee. She has been involved in forensic science education, research and casework for over 28 years. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and holds fellowships of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Chartered Society of Forensic Science, the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland, the Royal Statistical Society and the UK Association of Fire Investigators.

About the Chair

Akeela Ahmed

Akeela is a business leader, social entrepreneur and government advisor specialising in equalities campaigning. Since 2012, she has sat on the cross-government Working Group on Anti-Muslim Hatred, and became chair of the group in 2016. In 2014, Akeela founded ‘She Speaks We Hear’, an online platform bringing women’s voices together. She is a newspaper reviewer on BBC Radio London and a regular contributor to national and international media.
