Join us for a vibrant evening showcasing the richness and diversity of Romani musical traditions.
Bringing together three exceptional Roma ensembles, this concert blends the traditional with the modern, spotlighting a culture whose music has long transcended borders. From the energetic young performers of Zor, to the cross-European tradition bearers of the Ando Glaso Collective, to the globally celebrated family ensemble Čilagos, the evening offers a rare chance to hear Roma music in all its complexity and power.
Presented in partnership with Connecting Roma, this event also marks the end of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month, a nationwide celebration of GRT culture and identity.
This concert showcases the depth and vitality of Romani music, from tradition to reinvention, performed live by some of the most exciting artists working today.
About the Performers

Zor
Hailing from Glasgow, Zor is a dynamic Roma band made up of young musicians who bring bold energy and pride to every performance. Mixing traditional Roma melodies with modern styles like Balkan beats and pop, their music is as much about cultural expression as it is about youthful creativity. Zor is driven by a mission to spotlight Roma talent and share the joy and power of Roma music with wider audiences.

Ando Glaso Collective
The Ando Glaso Collective is a unique gathering of Roma musicians from across Europe. Each performer brings a distinct regional influence, together forming a rich ensemble of traditional Roma music. With roots in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and beyond, their live sets honour the depth of Romani heritage while inviting new generations to discover it. Their performances are rooted in traditional Roma music but layered with fresh arrangements, instrumental interplay and moments of improvisation. The collective is committed to cultural preservation and artistic excellence.

Čilagos
Taking their name from the Romani word for cloud, Čilagos is a multi-generational family ensemble known for their soulful and deeply rooted approach to traditional Roma music. Based in the Czech Republic, they’ve performed across Europe and the US, including for international dignitaries, and bring a rare depth of lived experience to their sound. The members of Čilagos include not only musicians, but also educators, social workers, activists and cultural leaders, making their performances as rich in perspective as they are in musical tradition.

Terne Caja
Terne Čaja are a dynamic Roma girls’ dance group from Bradford, showcasing the rich traditions and vibrant energy of Romani dance. They bring cultural pride and joyful expression to every performance, regularly appearing at festivals and community events across the region. Guided by local mentors, Terne Čaja celebrate Roma heritage through rhythm and movement, helping to keep traditional dance alive while inspiring a new generation.
About the Chairs

Terezia Rostas
Terezia Rostas is a Hungarian Roma from the Gabor community, a passionate advocate for Roma rights, gender equality, and racial justice. With a background in law and education – holding an Honours Degree in Law and a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University – she brings both legal insight and a deep commitment to inclusive learning.
Terezia is the founder of Welcoming Cultures and Care for Young People’s Future, organisations dedicated to tackling racial and social inequality. As a Roma Educational Consultant and advocate, she contributes to national and local policy work through roles with the Department for Education’s Roma Stakeholder Group, City GOALS, and the Cultural Strategy Task and Finish Group.

Daniel Balaz
Daniel Balaz is the founder and driving force behind Connecting Roma, a leading organisation supporting EU Roma communities in Bradford and beyond. A passionate advocate for inclusion, he works closely with statutory bodies to improve education, housing, and social care, and to strengthen community engagement. His work is recognised across the UK and Europe for its impact and vision.
Daniel also leads the organisation’s cultural department and proudly established England’s first Roma Cultural Centre. Through festivals, exhibitions, and international collaborations, the centre celebrates Roma heritage and creates space for dialogue and understanding. By welcoming Roma artists and cultural figures from around the world to Bradford, Daniel fosters cultural pride and helps connect communities through the power of art, music, and shared history.
