Samuel Sharp

Samuel Sharp is a self taught digital painter whose work explores the quiet poetry of everyday landscapes. Still practicing as a NHS pharmacist, Samuel creates vivid, light filled paintings on his iPad and iPhone often on the move, between shifts, or during moments of stillness at home. His work is rooted in observation and memory, capturing the emotional truth of a scene rather than its exact likeness. Influenced by David Hockney’s use of colour, technology, and deep looking, Samuel embraces digital tools not as shortcuts, but as a means to paint quickly and responsively in a fast changing world. His debut collection, The Long Look, brings together landscapes, portraits, and still lifes created over a year of sustained attention. With a style he calls “emotional realism,” Samuel’s work invites viewers to slow down, pay attention, and rediscover the beauty in the familiar.
