Bradford Literature Festival (BLF) has celebrated the magic of words to inform, engage, entertain and inspire since 2014.
Syima Aslam founded BLF as she believed a literature festival could have a huge impact on the city, both in terms of tourism and culture, and to raise the aspirations and education of children across the region. Syima Aslam, BLF’s CEO and Artistic Director, was awarded an MBE in 2022 for services to literature.
From humble beginnings, we’ve grown year after year, attracting over 708,000 audiences and hosting thousands of incredible speakers and authors. Find out more about our journey and how BLF became the UK’s largest diverse-led cultural organisation below.
