Munise Emetullah Akhtar
Munise Emetullah Akhtar is a British artist of Turkish Cypriot heritage specialising in traditional manuscript illumination, Persian miniature painting and biomorphic pattern design. Inspired by folktales, sacred manuscripts, nature and travels across Asia, Emetullah Akhtar works with natural pigments and shell gold to create intricate compositions. Through international exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops, Emetullah Akhtar celebrates and preserves traditional decorative arts and manuscript culture.
