Mapping the Maqamat maps the journey of Maqamat Al-Hariri across eight countries, through the work of eight contemporary artists from across the Arab world. Commissioned as part of Qatar Foundation’s BilAraby initiative, each poster responds to one of the great works of classical Arabic literature through the lens of the artist’s own cultural identity, heritage and visual language.
Eight countries. Eight artists. Eight journeys.
Together, these digital artworks show Arabic literature not as a fixed monument, but as a living conversation, still generating new meaning across borders, traditions and generations.
