About the Musician
Mike Pickering
Mike Pickering began his career at Factory Records in the early 1980s as an A&R man, signing Happy Mondays and James and releasing Quando Quango’s “Love Tempo” and TCOY’s “Carino,” championed by Larry Levan at Paradise Garage and New York club scene. He managed bookings and DJ’d at Haçienda, pioneered UK house through HOT and NUDE, co-founded Deconstruction Records, formed M People, sold 14 million albums, won two Brits and the Mercury Prize, signed Calvin Harris, Kasabian, Gossip and The Ting Tings.
