Description
Fairy tales were not always bedtime stories. Long before they were written down, these tales travelled through oral storytelling traditions as stories of danger, transformation and survival.
Experience an evening of traditional fairy tales as they were once told, rich with dark forests, impossible bargains and unexpected endings. Drawing on folklore from across Europe and beyond, this live storytelling performance explores the power and complexity of stories that have shaped imaginations for centuries.
All good stories get better the later and darker it becomes. Join storyteller Gav Cross and perhaps a late night ghost or two. Certainly a twist on some old classics. Almost certainly a smile. As we scratch our way into the darker roots of the stories we think we know.
Perhaps a nervous glimpse over the shoulder?
About the Performer
Gav Cross
Gav Cross is a storyteller that gets away with shouting at families and grown-ups for a living.
Often found lurking around the worst corners of a Ghost Story, Nursery Rhyme or Fairy Tale, Gav assures you that the tears of his audience are usually from laughter and not terror.
Usually.
