Description
Join us for an evening with award-winning content creator, food columnist, producer and now published author, Freda Shafi, as we delve into her debut novel, Suitorland.
Set in a Yorkshire terraced house in 1970s, Farrah and her sisters prepare for their ‘rishtay’ meetings, where prospective suitors and their families would visit with a view to marrying one of the sisters.
In what is hailed as the South Asian version of Bridgerton, Shafi brings to life the complexity of mother-daughter relationships, culture clashes, and secrets that make a family stronger and those that can tear one apart.
