Description
The British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding celebrates the best works of non-fiction that have contributed to public understanding of world cultures.
Now in its 11th year, the prestigious £25,000 prize champions books that all speak directly to the urgent challenges of our times, from racism to the growing climate crisis. The British Academy is the UK’s national academy for humanities and social sciences, and eligible books come from a wide range of subjects, including archaeology, history and psychology.
This special BLF event in partnership with The British Academy, ahead of the announcement of this year’s winner in November, brings together an inspirational panel of writers to discuss their work, including Julian Baggini, author of How the World Thinks: A Global History of Philosophy, and novelist Haifa Zangana.
