Good Innings: Shashi Tharoor, Shobha Tharoor and Smita Tharoor

Description

You may not yet know her name, but we all have something to learn from Lily Tharoor. In this world-exclusive event, all three of her children Shashi, Shobha and Smita Tharoor, come together from India, California and London to share their mother’s remarkable story.

Lily Tharoor was born in a small village in Kerala in the mid-1930s. From this humble beginning, she would live around the world, raise three global citizens, and inspire multiple generations with her drive to learn and achieve. Fiercely independent and ambitious, she pushed her children to always think outside the box. The only ground firm enough to stand on, she told them, is the one written into existence by your own hand.

Good Innings, written by Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan, tells her mother’s ‘extraordinary, ordinary’ story through a combination of personal reflections, life lessons, and philosophical insights. Join Lily’s remarkable children live on stage at BLF, to hear this truly intimate account of the life of a beloved matriarch and iron-willed woman.
