Description
Discover one of the world’s most enduring story collections in Kalīla wa-Dimna: The Art of the Moral Fable. Originating in Sanskrit before being translated into Arabic in 750 CE, these animal fables have travelled across more than forty languages, carrying sharp lessons about power, politics and human nature.
This exhibition features twelve newly commissioned miniature-style paintings by Qatari artist Wadha Al Athba. Working in indigo, saffron and gold leaf, Al Athba reimagines the book’s jackals, lions, crows and tortoises for contemporary audiences.
Presented in partnership with Qatar National Library.
