Louis Charalambous
Louis Charalambous is a media lawyer with extensive experience working with newspapers, journalists and in the libel courts. He has served as an in-house lawyer at publications including The Sun, as well as acting privately. Having worked his way up through the legal profession, he is driven by a strong sense of justice and a commitment to protecting the innocent.
About the Chair
Fran Unsworth
Fran was Director, News and Current Affairs from January 2018 to April 2022. Prior to that she was Director, BBC World Service Group. She led the BBC’s global news services – BBC World Service, BBC World News and BBC.com – as well as BBC Monitoring, and she chaired the BBC’s international development charity, BBC Media Action. She began her journalistic career in 1980 in BBC Local Radio. Since leaving the BBC, Fran has undertaken roles with a number of charitable organisations. She chairs The International News Safety Institute, which campaigns for journalists’ safety. She chaired an international development charity, BBC Media Action, and she sits on the board of the British Youth Music Theatre.
