Supported by the Yunus Emre Institute, this fascinating session offers insight into the techniques, materials and decorative traditions behind centuries of manuscript-making and Islamic book arts. Trained in Türkiye and now based in Norfolk, Demet is one of only two active parchment makers in the UK practising this critically endangered craft.
Through stories, images and expert knowledge, discover the cultural significance of Ottoman book arts and gain a rare glimpse into a heritage tradition that continues to inspire contemporary creativity today.
