If laughter is the best medicine, come and get your dose, and have your funny bones well and truly tickled, at what has become a much-loved festival tradition, An Evening of Comedy, hosted by  the man referred to as ‘Blackburn’s answer to Chris Rock’ – the one and only Tez Ilyas, star of The Tez Ilyas Show on C4 and the BBC’s Man Like Mobeen. Joining Tez on stage will be a host of comedy talent, including actor and comedian Sukh Ojla, who has just completed her successful tour ‘Life Sukhs’.

Tez Ilyas

Tez Ilyas is one of the most celebrated rising stars in British Comedy. Following three critically acclaimed shows, he has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Man Like Mobeen, The Last Leg and has written his own scripted project Bounty for Channel 4.

Sukh Ojla

Sukh is a comedian, actor and writer.

As a comedian Sukh has performed on BBC2’s Big Asian Stand Up Show and across the BBC Asian Network.  In 2019 she took her debut solo show ‘For Sukh’s Sake’ to Edinburgh, which received rave reviews including 5* from Funny Women. In 2020 Sukh will be embarking on a nationwide tour with her new show ‘Life Sukhs’.

As an actor Sukh recently appeared in series 2 of The End of the F**king World (Channel 4) and as a regular role in GameFace (Channel 4), she is also a member of the core cast on Class Dismissed (CBBC).  Previously she was a regular role on sitcom Hospital People (BBC1) and appeared in feature film Victoria and Abdul alongside Judi Dench.  Her acting credits also include Future Conditional (Old Vic), Black Mirror (Channel 4) and EastEnders (BBC).

In 2017 Sukh wrote and starred in first play, Pyar Actually (Rifco) which toured nationally in 2017 and 2018.
